Have You Mastered the 6 Crucial Life Skills No One Teaches You in School

Have You Mastered the 6 Crucial Life Skills No One Teaches You in School When we grow up, it becomes very apparent that there were a ton of crucial life skills that you must learn on your own. Why is this the case? Maybe your parents didnt have the knowledge themselves, or maybe you just needed to learn it on your own. Lets discuss the six crucial life skills that I had to learn on my own. 1. Self-acceptanceWe live in a world where we are inundated with images and messages in the media trying to convince us that we need to change ourselves. It is easy to get down on yourself. When you get challenged for being yourself, no one can teach you how to accept yourself. It is an inside job that begins with having the intention of choosing yourself over everyone else. Your happiness and peace of mind becomes your priority over friends, family and the rest of the world. Once you have the intention to accept yourself and what you want in the world, you will spend the rest of your life learning how to honor yourself at home, at work, and beyond.2. Self-careWhat is self-care all about? Some people turn to yoga, meditation, reading, music or art. However, there is no one right method of self-care that works for everyone. My self-care involves eating something yummy, napping, reading and watching a couple of movies near my hubby and pooch. Self-care for you probably involves something much different. The sooner you learn what you need to relax and take care of yourself, the closer you will be to having the perfect outlet for stressful life moments.3. ForgivenessForgiveness is something you must learn on your own. No one can explain to you why you need to forgive others. People will tell you that forgiveness allows you to free yourself from holding onto anger and resentment, move forward with the relationship or gain compassion and understanding for the other person.Yet, when we are in the moment where we need to forgive someone else, it can be hard to have these reasons to f orgive them run through our heads. We have to learn how to get to the distribution policy where we can forgive those who have wronged us no matter how hard or difficult it may feel. Forgiveness is something that I have struggled with.4. The art of learningSchool isnt for everyone. Why? No one can teach you how you need to learn. Some people learn visually and others learn through reading, while some learn through writing. If you are like me, you learn through reading, writing and speaking. The sooner you learn how you learn, the easier it will be for you to succeed in school, your career and beyond.5. Intuitive livingThe minute you learn to listen to your body, the better life you live. When you feel like you need a glass of water, why ignore the feeling? Stop what you are doing and have a glass of water. If you are feeling overwhelmed, it is up to you to pause and calm your mind and nerves. Intuitive living is the ultimate way to enjoy your life that is authentic to yourself and w hat you need.6. Self-confidenceEleanor Roosevelt once said no one can make you feel inferior without your consent. She was 100% correct. Confidence comes from within. Sadly, no one can teach you how to grow your internal self-confidence. You must learn what you need to say and do that will make you feel like the CEO of your life.--Natasha Nurse started Dressing Room 8 to provide a web-based resource where women can gain personal and professional empowerment through her fashion and lifestyle focused blog.
